On June 24, 2026, the 16th China Molybdenum Industry Annual Conference was grandly held in Luoyang, Henan Province. More than 600 industry leaders and corporate elites from around the world gathered in the "Molybdenum Capital of China" to discuss industry trends, explore transformation pathways, and jointly envision a new blueprint for the high-quality, international, and sustainable development of China's molybdenum industry.
This year's conference featured dedicated symposiums for molybdenum chemical and molybdenum product enterprises, focusing on the core midstream sectors of the industrial chain and providing precise, in-depth exchange platforms. Xu Jianmin, Chairman of Luoyang Kangbote Tungsten-Molybdenum Materials Co., Ltd., was invited to host the symposium. He led key midstream enterprises in conducting focused, in-depth discussions on industry pain points, development challenges, and innovation priorities, building consensus and pooling wisdom to break through bottlenecks and activate growth momentum in the midstream segment of the molybdenum industry.
At present, the global molybdenum industry is at a critical window period characterized by supply-demand restructuring, the transition between old and new growth drivers, and the upgrading of competitive tracks. The industry faces both opportunities and challenges. Multiple difficulties—including fluctuations in upstream raw material prices, technical barriers in high-end deep processing, pressure from green and low-carbon transformation, and obstacles in overseas market expansion—pose new tests for industrial development. As the crucial intermediate link connecting upstream resources with downstream end manufacturing, molybdenum chemicals and molybdenum products serve as the core hub for quality improvement, upgrading, and value extension of the industrial chain, bearing the important mission of breaking through and transforming during this period of change.
During the symposium, Xu Jianmin, leveraging his years of experience across the entire industrial chain and based on an overall industry perspective, provided a systematic and in-depth interpretation of the current development situation and market environment of the molybdenum industry. He precisely analyzed common pain points and core challenges such as raw material cost control, capacity structure optimization, dependence on imported high-end products, and international trade barriers. He clearly outlined the key transformation and upgrading paths for midstream enterprises toward intelligence, high-end orientation, green development, and internationalization. His insights were profound and practical, sparking strong resonance and deep reflection among all participating enterprise representatives.

The Q&A session adopted an open interactive format, creating a pragmatic, enthusiastic atmosphere filled with valuable exchanges. Enterprise representatives actively raised questions and engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as large-scale production of high-purity molybdenum chemical raw materials, iterative improvements in precision processing techniques for molybdenum products, efficient recycling of secondary molybdenum resources, deep cultivation of overseas market channels, and emerging demand expansion in new energy and semiconductor sectors. Xu Jianmin promptly sorted out the demands and pain points expressed by various parties, guiding upstream and downstream enterprises to share production experiences, exchange technological achievements, and explore market strategies together, effectively breaking down information silos and smoothing coordination channels along the industrial chain. Enterprises openly shared practical experiences in cost reduction, efficiency improvement, green technology upgrades, and cross-border exports. Multiple pragmatic consensuses were reached on key matters such as collaborative linkage of the industrial chain, joint establishment and sharing of industry standards, and cooperative efforts in core technology breakthroughs, laying a solid foundation for the collective development of the midstream industry.
In his concluding remarks, Xu Jianmin stated that as industry competition intensifies and industrial transformation becomes urgent, molybdenum enterprises must unite, deepen technological innovation, and strengthen collaboration to overcome individual development bottlenecks, solve industry-wide challenges, and reshape the competitive landscape of the industry.
This special symposium precisely targeted the core development needs of the molybdenum chemical and molybdenum product midstream sectors, establishing an efficient and pragmatic platform for industry docking, resource sharing, and technological co-creation. It effectively clarified development ideas and consolidated industry synergy. By charting clear pathways for structural optimization, high-end upgrading, and global layout of the domestic molybdenum midstream industry, it will further help China's molybdenum industry consolidate its global competitive advantages and steadily enter a new stage of high-quality, sustainable, and international development.
